nd the issue of experience and expression related to the dominant urban order and institutional structures. The location featured in the video is the peripheral road frequently used during the artist’s commute between her home and the university where she works as an academic in İzmir. The project aims to discuss İzmir’s urbanization issuesand how the city’s culture and architecture, rooted in its historical past, have become faceless due to the country’s sociopolitical processes. It seeks to examine the concept of the city and environment from individual and societal perspectives while offering a different experience of routines. In doing so, it aims to develop an expressive response to the repressive processes that hinder the transmission of critical and creative thinking. The video reflects this expression through the walking experience and the sound of reduplications we hear in the background.

You are invited to the video screening on Thursday, September 12, starting at 6:00 PM, followed by a talk titled Experiencing the Periphery by Çiçek Tezer and Pınar Boztepe Mutlu, discussing urban space, movement, and creativity.
